The stream from the convention of fans of the free-play MMO RPG Warframe gathered an audience of 414 thousand viewers on Twitch, which is 25 times more than last year’s result. The developers actively encouraged fans to watch the broadcast, rewarding viewers with free loot.

At such conventions, which are called TennoCon, developers present large-scale updates and additions to the fans of the game. For those who can’t come to the game, there is a live stream.

Last year’s broadcast of the convention was watched by 17 thousand people – this is very small by the standards of a game with 38 million registered users.

Before TennoCon 2018, developers began to actively entice the audience to watch the stream. For those users whose accounts in the game and Twitch are synchronized, an in-game exoskeleton suit was issued free of charge for watching 30 minutes of the broadcast.

As a result, the simultaneous number of viewers of the broadcast exceeded last year’s result by 25 times and broke all the records of the game for views on Twitch.

As GitHyp notes, such success is natural, among other things, because the game is becoming more and more popular with players on Steam. In June, the record for the simultaneous number of users in the game was broken – 128.5 thousand players were in it at the same time.

Also, the game will soon be released on the Nintendo Switch, so next year, perhaps, the audience of TennoCon will be even larger.
