Cult games of the past continue to be published on mobile platforms. Today, one of the first three-dimensional horror adventure games appeared in the App Store – Alone in the Dark.
The release of the original PC version took place 22 years ago, in 1992. In the project, the player’s character was trapped in a mysterious estate inhabited by monsters. The goal of the game was to get out of the building alive.
The project laid the gameplay foundations of the whole horror-adventure genre and became the main source of inspiration for such series as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, and now it is available for review from mobile devices.
And everything would be fine if not for the quality of porting. In my memory, this is one of the most unsuccessful transfers from PC to mobile. Unobvious and, more critically, inconvenient management; menu, not redrawn for mobile devices; UI, which hangs on the screen even during the screensaver… A sea of shortcomings, which, however, do not make the game published by Atari unplayable, but make you regret the 33 rubles spent on it.
You can download the game here, but we recommend getting to know the classics differently. Save your nerves and money.
