The fourth part of the mobile game “about worms” from the studio Team 17 appeared on iOS.

Gameplay title refers to the previous mobile incarnations of the franchise. The player gets a team of worms at his disposal, after which he can choose – to go through a campaign, fight against the computer, choose a friend from Facebook as an opponent, or participate in an online battle with the team.

Then the differences begin. Firstly, the authors of the game again decided to abandon the hand-drawn style. The third part was stylized in 2D, like the unforgettable first computer Worms. In the new game, the field is also two-dimensional. No nausea-inducing camera turns. But the worms themselves are low-poly, as is the terrain. To our taste, this kills all the hand-drawn charm of the first parts.

Gaming sessions have become shorter. In mobile Worm 3, they lasted for 5 minutes, in the fourth version, the battle takes a minute. The project is paid, it costs 279 rubles in the Russian App Store. But there is no feeling of a premium game: at the very beginning, the worms have no weapons or equipment. They are bought for soft currency and achievement points.

All that was in the original – computer – versions of Worms, the new worms are clearly not enough. There is no way to drop a “Sacred Bomb” or launch a “Super Sheep” at the enemy at the beginning of the game. The team’s customization resources are limited. That is, it will not be possible to choose tombstones and hats for your fighters for a long time and thoughtfully, as in the first parts.

In general, the game causes this… customer perplexity. Imagine that you paid in a restaurant for Caesar, but only lettuce leaves are brought to you. And you have to pay extra for the rest of the ingredients, dressing, salt and cutlery. That’s how the new Worms turned out.
