An MMO game will be released in the League of Legends universe. There are very few details of the project yet, but it is already known who will lead it. The development will be handled by Greg Street, a former lead designer of World of Warcraft and Age of Empires.

This was announced on Twitter by Street himself. In his message, the developer was laconic. He wrote that he started working on some “large-scale game in the LoL universe, which many of the gamers and the Riot Games team have been asking for for a long time.” Street did not disclose any other details.

Later, Street was asked in the comments — isn’t it going to be an MMO? To which he gave an affirmative answer.

Players have really been waiting for the appearance of an MMO adhering to the canons of LoL for a long time. Interestingly, exactly a year ago, the founder of Riot Games, Marc Merill, when asked about a potential MMO, replied that if the studio would work on it, it would happen “not soon.”

Riot Games is currently developing at least three games. So far, only one of them has been announced — the turn-based RPG Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, which will be released for PC and consoles. Two more future titles have not been officially announced and are codenamed Project L and Projekt F. It is only known that the first of them will be a fighting game, and the second will be an action RPG.
