A few days ago, a studio with the nautical name Ahoiii Entertainment released an educational children’s game Fiete Math. We talk about the project.
To begin with, a few words about the name of the game and about the authors of the project themselves.
Ahoiii Entertainment is a small Cologne studio specializing in games for children. The project of this team, which fell into our hands, is called Fiete Math, which means “mathematics of the Fit”. Fite is a friendly sailor living on an island in the sea. This character, like the marine theme, is somehow present in every Ahoiii project (which personally seemed very cute to us).
What?
A game for young children, the purpose of which is to give the child an initial idea of mathematics.
How?
In each level, the player is given cubes-containers. One container is a unit. The example of these cubes tells about simple operations with numbers: addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. For example, if you combine two cubes, they will “stick together” into a deuce. If you divide by swipe, you will get two units again. The result of calculations at the end of each level, the child “puts” on a funny cargo ship or boat. The sailor (apparently, Fite) is happy every time.
At the end of each level, the player receives different animals – a big-eyed pig, a frightened cat, a cheerful cockatoo. Then these animals also participate in the game as such figures (only indivisible, of course).
Each section in Fiete Math is a separate country. For example, the numbers are introduced in the USA, and the player learns about addition in the UK.
Why buy a game?
To tell your child about the basics of mathematics. And, perhaps, to calm the parental conscience – if the child is still sitting in the tablet, so let him at least get some benefit.
Cons?
The gameplay is pretty monotonous. It seemed to us that it was unlikely that a small child would sit for this game for a long time – he would need an adult nearby who would maintain interest in the process. But we quite admit that for a child’s game this is not a minus, but a plus.
The game is currently available only in the App Store. The cost is 229 rubles.
