The rumors were confirmed. Fortnite will indeed add a monthly subscription, which will include game currency and other bonuses. But it will be possible to link it to only one platform.
In early November, a survey from Epic leaked to the network. In it, the developers of the battle royale were interested in the opinion of Fortnite users about the possible introduction of a subscription to the game. The company did not comment on this leak, but two weeks after it announced a new service — the Fortnite Squad subscription.
The composition of the subscription is almost the same as previously reported:
- combat pass of the current season;
- 1000 V-bucks;
- an exclusive costume and accessory for the members of the “Fortnite Squad” (in the plum they wrote that subscribers would only get early access to “cosmetics”, which would later appear in the store).
Bonus items can be used on any platform where the player has Fortnite installed. Ie, you can buy a subscription on Switch, and apply the dropped battle pass and suit — on PC, for example. But the game currency will remain tied to the Switch in this case. It will be impossible to transfer V-bucks from platform to platform.
“Fortnite Squad” starts exactly one week later, on December 2. Russian players will be able to buy a subscription for 719 rubles every month.
