The Gamasutra resource has published a list of sites where you can find game art for free or for a small price. We share.
A website with free or relatively inexpensive images. The author of the resource not only shares pictures, but also posts tutorials for game artists. Gamasutra describes the site as “the best resource for developers who want to learn how to draw art themselves.”
2. OpenGameArt
Library of free game graphics. The emphasis on the resource is on pixel art.
All kinds of graphics for games are sold here, from characters to GUI. Discounts are constantly available on the website. There is also a section “For inspiration”, where the creators of the resource share fake screenshots collected using art from the site.
4. GameArtGuppy
Another resource with a variety of graphics for games. There are paid and free assets on the site.
5. Kenney.nl
The creator of the resource shares graphics for donation. This means that the buyer sets the price for a set of images by himself. You can download it for free, or you can transfer any convenient amount to the author in gratitude.
The resource is also convenient because the images on it are loaded in thematic blocks. One block includes a set of characters, objects and backgrounds.
6. LostGarden
A site where you can find not only free art for games, but also a variety of development tips.
Online art store. Interestingly, you can not only buy art here, but also sell it.
Game graphics store. Here, too, you can buy art and sell it yourself.
Another art market. Unlike the two previous sites, it is impossible to sell graphics on this resource – only to buy.
10. UnluckyStudio
A site where there is not only art, but also tips for artists and developers, as well as interviews with famous artists.
