1. The McDonald’s chain of eateries is testing virtual reality glasses for $4. The headset is called Happy Goggles. The glasses are arranged according to the same principle as Google Cardboard: they are based on a cardboard and a pair of lenses. A smartphone is embedded in the device. Interestingly, the lens holder is a cardboard bag from under the Happy Meal set. The first game for the headset – a simulator of downhill skiing – will appear on March 5. So far, Happy Goggles will be sold in 14 Swedish restaurants of the chain. Later, the device can be launched to the whole world.

2. Industrial Toys Studio will release a sequel to the sci-fi first-person shooter Midnight Star. The action of the game called Midnight Star: Renegade will unfold 120 years after the events of the first game. The release is promised this summer.

3. Meta startup has opened the reception of pre-orders for a set of augmented reality glasses for developers. The headset is called Meta 2 and costs $949 – three times cheaper than a HoloLens set. According to the authors of the technology, the user interacts with images using his hands in the same way as in the real world.
