Gameloft is closing another office, Steam will start accepting payment in bitcoin, and the creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s is announcing either a spin-off, or another continuation of his horror.
1. Another Gameloft studio has closed, this time in Spain. This is reported by Gamasutra with reference to its own sources. With the closure of the office in Valencia, 18 people lost their jobs. Recall that this is the 11th studio of those that Gameloft has closed over the past year and a half. According to the company’s management, the reduction led to an increase in revenue.
2. Buyers on Steam will soon be able to pay for games with virtual currency – bitcoin. Valve, which owns the service, promised “a system that will protect partners from risks.” Support for this system will be given to a third-party company. Prices will be automatically converted to bitcoins depending on the daily fluctuations in the exchange rate of this currency. “There will be no need to set the price in bitcoins or track the exchange rate. The cost of your products will not change,” Valve says in a post on Reddit.
3. The author of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, Scott Cawthon, announced the Sister Location project. The promo poster of the game on the developer’s website reads “He wasn’t the only one.” It is not yet known what the project is – a spin-off in another location (the name Sister Location hints at this) or a full-fledged continuation of the series. Against the second version – the words of Coughton himself. In September last year, the developer announced that fans should not wait for a full fifth of the horror. Instead, Coughton launched an RPG called FNaF World.
