The gaming industry in Cyprus has established its own award to highlight the achievements of companies and projects that are significant to the country. It's called the Cyprus Game Industry Awards and is held during the September WN Conference Cyprus’26.
The award will honor both companies officially registered in Cyprus and those simply conducting business on the island. The key is to have a noticeable presence in the country and accomplishments from the past year. The nominees’ headquarters may be located in another region.
The Cyprus Game Industry Awards feature six categories:
- Mobile Games Achievement of the Year;
- PC & Console Achievement of the Year;
- Publisher of the Year;
- People & Workplace Award;
- Growth & Creative Partner of the Year;
- Games Commerce & Payments Partner of the Year.
The winners of the Cyprus Game Industry Awards will be determined in several stages. Currently, the award organizers, along with the gaming community, are selecting nominees. Anyone can nominate a candidate they believe deserves the award in any given category — just visit the award's website and submit your suggestion. Notably, companies are also allowed to nominate themselves.
As WN Conference Cyprus’26 approaches, open voting will begin, during which some nominees with the fewest votes will be eliminated. The result will be a shortlist of nominees, from which an expert jury, composed of experienced representatives from the gaming industry, will choose the best.
The winners will be announced on the evening of September 17 during a networking party at WN Conference Cyprus’26. The award ceremony will also take place then. It is worth noting that attendance at the party will be limited to premium ticket holders of the conference, so consider this when choosing your pass.
The WN Conference Cyprus’26 itself will take place over two days: September 17-18. It is already known that participants will include representatives from Owlcat Games, Playrix, Supercell, Nexters, Helio Games, SayGames, and many other companies.
