Bing Li, business manager for premium games at XD Network, shared such data with reference to the analytical company Statista during a speech at the PGC Digital conference.
The main thing from his report:
- Last year, the revenue of the Chinese gaming industry reached $43 billion. This was 20% more than in 2019;
- Its revenue is expected to grow to $49 billion in 2021. In this case, it will amount to 32% of the total revenue of the gaming industry ($154 billion);
- Lee noted that the second in terms of earnings will be the US gaming industry (20%), and the third — the European Union (15%);
- Separately, Lee added that the mobile gaming market has increased eightfold over the past six years — from $4.2 billion in 2014 to $32.4 billion in 2020.
Recall that, according to the analytical company IDC, last year the gaming industry was supposed to earn $ 179.7 billion. It was assumed that $87.7 billion of them fell on mobile (which is 2.7 times more than XD Network notes).
