Children began to play more often on mobile devices. They use computers for the same purpose less and less often. This is reported by the VentureBeat resource with reference to a study by the analytical company NDP Group.
The study involved children and adolescents aged 2 to 17 years. It turned out that 63% prefer to play games on mobile devices. At the same time, those who play on a PC turned out to be 45%. For comparison, in 2013 the figure was 67%. Thus, mobile has become a more popular platform among children and teenagers than PC.
The study also says that boys spend more on games than girls. For three months, the average amount is $54. For girls, it is equal to $36. At the same time, both spend the same amount on mobile games (the NPD Group does not give the exact amount).
According to NPD Group experts, the changes are a consequence of the fact that parents have become more likely to turn to mobile devices than to PCs. Accordingly, it is easier for children to access them.
