By the end of September App2Top.ru Together with AppMagic, I have prepared a report on the most popular and earning mobile games in the world.

The most downloaded games of the month
Stumble Guys became the leader in total downloads for the fourth time in a row.

This is a clone of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, which was developed by the Finnish studio Kitka Games. In September, its mobile version was downloaded 23.9 million times.

However, other games took the first places in the tops separately for iOS and Android.

Subway Surfers returned to the top of the Android top, with 22.5 million downloads in September (18.7 million on Google Play and 3.8 million on the App Store). The most downloaded iOS game of the month was X-HERO— a superhero battler published in the summer of 2020 by the Chinese BINGCHUAN NETWORK. It has collected 6.8 million downloads.

This time, only one new product got into the rating.

Stick War: Hero Tower Defense

Minimalistic game from Rocket Game Studio. The main goal of the user is to capture all the enemy towers and defeat the final “boss”. Gameplay Stick War: Hero Tower Defense is very similar to another game of the company — Stick Hero: Mighty Tower Wars, which was included in the August top. In fact, the titles differ from each other only in the visual.

At the end of the month:

  • ranked 10th in total downloads — 13.7 million;
  • ranked 8th in terms of downloads on Android — 13.7 million .

The highest-grossing games of the month

The box office chart is also almost unchanged. Honor of Kings traditionally took the first place in the overall top and in the iOS top with revenue of $172.19 million. Candy Crush Saga earned the most on Android again — $57.4 million (and another $47.1 million on iOS).

It should be noted that the mobile veteran Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, which was released in 2015, returned to the rating. During the month, the fighting game rose by 30 lines both in the overall top and in the top with games from Google Play, eventually taking 9th and 7th places, respectively. In September, the game earned $53.9 million.

The Japanese battler Puzzle & Dragons (パズルドドドドドンンズ) also strengthened its position. It has risen by 23 lines and is located on the 10th place in the list of the most earning iOS games. The project’s revenue for September was $44.1 million.
