Facebook Home Android firmware is about to be launched, which will allow the Facebook social network to be integrated as deeply as possible into Google’s operating system. Mark Zuckerberg has announced the imminent launch of the Facebook Home Android firmware.

Instagram Facebook and Instagram account for 25% of all the time that people spend working with their smartphone, according to Zuckerberg. At the same time, all operating systems today are built around applications. Mark thinks it’s wrong.

Initially, it seemed to him that it was necessary to create a phone that is “about people, not about applications.” The problem was that no matter what smartphone the company created, someone would definitely not like it. As a result, Facebook decided to work in a different direction.

We are not creating a phone and we are not creating our own operating system, we are focusing on Android,” Zuckerberg said and introduced Facebook Home.

This is a firmware that fundamentally changes everything in a smartphone, including the home screen and lock screen. Your friends’ posts will be posted on them in the present tense. The notification mechanism has been completely redesigned. Now the user will see when receiving a message on Facebook not just a tick, but the face of the person who sent the message. A new chat will appear, which will be activated on top of the running application when new Facebook messages appear.

At first, only flagships will support the firmware: HTC one, HTC One X, One X+, Samsung Galaxy III-IV and Samsung Galaxy Note II. There will also be HTC First, the only smartphone that is specifically optimized for the new firmware and will be distributed with it.

Facebook Home will appear in the Play Store on April 12, the same day HTC First will start selling in the USA. The price with the contract is $99.9.
