The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, has instructed the government to allocate funds from the federal budget aimed at supporting Russian game developers. This initiative is undertaken "for the purpose of developing creative industries" in the country.

"Smuta"

The funds are set to be directed to the Internet Development Institute (IDI) — an organization that is currently actively financing game companies. In April 2024, it was reported that over the past three years, the IDI provided grants to developers of 40 games, totaling over 1.5 billion rubles. Notably, it supported the creators of "Smuta," "Periphery Front," "Sparta," and "Secrets of the Museum."

The decree from Putin does not specify the amount of the allocated funds.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, has been appointed responsible for fulfilling this mandate. It must be executed by October 15, 2024.
