Cubic Games Studio has shared the latest metrics for the free-to-play shooter Pixel Gun 3D. We now know how many people have downloaded the game across different platforms and how much revenue it has generated.
To begin with, let’s recall that Pixel Gun 3D was available only on mobile devices for a long time. The mobile version was released in May 2013, and this April, Pixel Gun 3D also arrived on Steam.
Pixel Gun 3D Statistics:
▫️Over more than 11 years of its existence, Pixel Gun 3D has generated a total of $210 million. This is the combined revenue of all game versions;
▫️the number of downloads from just the Steam version of Pixel Gun 3D is 2 million, while total downloads of the game exceed 220 million;
▫️the mobile version of Pixel Gun 3D consistently ranks in the top 10 highest-grossing and most popular first-person shooters in the App Store and Google Play, according to AppMagic. Specifically, in the first nine months of 2024, it ranked eighth in downloads and tenth in revenue from IAPs in this category.
The last time Pixel Gun 3D's metrics were disclosed was in October 2023, prior to the game's release on PC. At that time, the game’s revenue stood at $200 million with 185 million downloads.
Earlier this month, GDEV — the parent company of the game's developers — announced that the PC version of Pixel Gun 3D recouped its marketing and development costs on the day of its release.
