The St. Petersburg Prosecutor's Office has filed an administrative lawsuit seeking to ban the distribution of the strategy game Last Train Home in Russia.

Last Train Home is an RTS set during the Russian Civil War in the early 20th century. The game tells the story of Czechoslovak soldiers who journey home on an armored train and struggle to survive in harsh conditions. It was developed by the Czech studio Ashborne Games and published by THQ Nordic. The game was released on November 28, 2023, for PC.

The prosecutor's office stated in the lawsuit that Last Train Home incites hatred towards Red Army soldiers and glorifies members of the Czechoslovak Legion. Furthermore, the developers allegedly distort history and deliberately portray Russian state authorities of that time in a negative light. All of this, according to the prosecution, could undermine Russia's "historical foundations and patriotic traditions," as well as "harm the mental and social health and development of children."

The hearing for the lawsuit is scheduled for August 22.
