Zombie Catchers game (known in Russia as “Zombie Hunters”) from the Finnish studio Two men and a dog in just a few days overcame the threshold of 1 million downloads and got into the box office Top 50 overall in more than ten regions (App Store).
Of course, there was no fitching on the part of Apple. The game was included in the weekly selection of “Best New Games” in 177 countries on October 30.
As a result, the game got into the Top 100 downloads in a hundred countries.
Its box office performance also turned out to be at a good level.
If we look at the dynamics of downloads, then at this stage we would not draw any conclusions. The feathering continues.
But if we talk about the cash register, then everything is very good here. In Russia, at least, for sure.
When we wrote about the game last Friday, we had no idea that it would appeal to mobile users. Recall that in the project, players act as aliens who feed people drinks and pies created from captured zombies.
The gameplay is divided into, conditionally, two components. The first is a platformer: the player lures zombies with the help of brains, and then, when the dead get out of the ground, hooks them with a harpoon.
The second component is the most simplified time-changer: the player puts the captured monsters into zombie squeezers, which automatically deliver shakes, lollipops, pies and much more to the diner. Squeezers are designed for different types of zombies, they yield a different number of servings of different cost.
The game also has its own analogue of “energy”: drones are looking for locations with zombies. After emptying one location (one hunt), the drone spends about seven to eight minutes looking for a new place.
You can buy drones, as well as skip time.
