The release of the mobile version of Dungeon Keeper caused a wave of criticism. Fans of the original game were not ready for the mobile continuation of the cult series.
There are not so many serious reasons not to like EA development:
1. This is not Dungeon Keeper 3
The Dungeon Keeper dilogy is considered a classic today. This is not surprising: the first two parts are original, high-level projects. It is quite understandable that many players familiar with the series want to see a full-fledged sequel on PC, and not on mobile platforms.

2. This is not a Dungeon Keeper at all
The original series of games was a mix of economic strategy and FPS. The player rebuilt the dungeons, equipped them for the needs of monsters who lived their own lives (trained, spent money in the casino, learned spells, etc.), and also repelled the attacks of the forces of good, including moving into their minions.
Mobile Dungeon Keeper, in turn, is more of an ideological heir to Clash of Clans than the original series. Therefore, some players perceive the new game not as a return of the cult IP, but as an attempt to play on their nostalgia.

3. It’s free-2-play
Hardcore gamers, in general, perceive free-2-play negatively. Especially with tight monetization. Therefore, the reason for the appearance of materials like “How the IAP destroyed the industry” is quite understandable.
Mobile Dungeon Keeper
As for our assessment, it is as follows:
The initial concept, in which the user built rooms, waited for the creatures to appear, took care that they did not interfere with each other (building a library next to the torture hall is a bad idea), watched them grow – could perfectly fit on the free–2-play “rails”. However, EA took the path of least resistance. She borrowed the setting and the need to hollow out rooms in the rock from the original, and took the rest from the already time-tested creation of Supercell.
For most mobile players, this did not become a tragedy. The game has high ratings and excellent box office figures for a project that appeared in mobile stores less than a week ago.
By the way, EA has already launched the MMO Dungeon Keeper Online.
